It was at the Gastronòmic Forum in Barcelona, where once again this year was held the contest of the Best Artisan Panettone of Spain 2024, where a jury of 70 professionals have taken into account criteria such as appearance and shape, the point of cooking and the appearance of the glaze, the structure of the crumb and the distribution of the fruit, as well as the aroma and flavor to choose the best.
And this year the joy in Barcelona is double because the two awards, the best panettone and the best chocolate panettone have gone to bakeries in Barcelona.

Between the two winners there is an old acquaintance of the contest and a newcomer to the city that has come to break the board.
The old dog is Mervier Canal, who has taken the prize for the best classic panettone, revalidating a mastery in pastry that already demonstrates his three titles for the best croissant in the country.
On the other hand, the pastry Madeleine by Ferrières Barcelona, with less than two years of life, has won the prize for the best chocolate panettone of Spain 2024 with the recipe of its pastry chef Felipe Santa Cruz, who has been rewarded for his efforts after several years perfecting his recipe.
