The Generalitat de Catalunya will launch a call for applications for rental assistance for young people next Monday, with a budget of 26.8 million euros. Applications may be submitted from June 29 through July 10, 2025, according to the resolution published in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat de Catalunya (DOGC).
It is intended for individuals who, as of January 31, 2026, are 35 years old or younger and hold a rental contract for an apartment or a room.
The call for applications, published in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat de Catalunya (DOGC), was created to address the demand that could not be met through the national Bo Lloguer Jove program. According to Sílvia Paneque, the Regional Minister of Territory, Housing, and Ecological Transition, the amount of the subsidy varies depending on the financial burden that rent payments represent for each applicant.
Amounts and limits based on income and location

The amount is not fixed: it ranges from a minimum of 20 euros to a maximum of 250 euros per month, calculated in proportion to the burden that rent represents on the applicant’s income. The assistance is granted to all individuals who meet the requirements, applying the prioritization and assessment criteria set forth in the regulatory guidelines.
Eligible rent is subject to maximum amounts that vary depending on the property’s location. For entire dwellings, the caps are as follows:
- Barcelona Metropolitan Area (Baix Llobregat, Barcelonès, Garraf, Maresme, Vallès Occidental, and Vallès Oriental): 1,000 euros/month
- Rest of the Barcelona metropolitan area: 750 euros/month
- Girona Province: 750 euros/month
- Tarragona Region: 700 euros/month
- Lleida Province: 600 euros/month
- Terres de l’Ebre: 600 euros/month.
- For large families, single-parent families, and households with a member who has a recognized disability and a favorable mobility rating, the limit rises to 900 euros throughout Catalonia, with the exception of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area, where the ceiling is 1,100 euros.
Rooms: Limits by Administrative District
In the case of room rentals, the maximum eligible amounts are:
- Barcelona Metropolitan Area: 450 euros/month
- Girona Region: 400 euros/month
- Rest of the Barcelona region and the Tarragona region: 350 euros/month
- Lleida and Terres de l’Ebreregions: 300 euros/month
