La Mercè once again turns Barcelona into a great outdoor stage. Also in a great restaurant that this year again has a section with Asian flavor. From September 23 to 28 (except Thursday 25), the Parc de l’Estació del Nord will host the second edition of Chopstick Fest, a gastronomic festival that celebrates the richness and diversity of Asian cuisine in the framework of the most emblematic festivities of the city.
The Chopstick Fest is inspired by Asian street markets, combining food, culture and popular atmosphere. The proposal of Van Van Food brings to Barcelona a sample of cuisines that share a common element: chopsticks. And it does so with a most tempting culinary line-up.
16 Asian restaurants in the middle of the park
Among the participants you will find from ramen and zha jiang mian from Foochee Ramen, to Korean corn dogs and crispy chicken from Os Familia. There will also be creations from Fry House by El Puto Ken, with its Japanese burger; pad thai and satay from Thai Food Caravan; takoyakis and onigiris from Osaka Bang; or the iconic dumplings from Lady Dumpling.
There will also be proposals such as Kibuka’s tonkatsu donburi, Madam Do’s bahn mi, Snow Monster’s sweets or Kakigori Barcelona’s refreshing kakigoris. A unique opportunity to taste recognized classics and discover surprising recipes that invite you to explore new textures and flavors.
Gastronomy surrounded by theater and circus
The Chopstick Fest is not just about eating: it’s about strolling among the stalls, sitting under the trees in the park and enjoying a relaxed experience in the festive atmosphere of La Mercè .
The market shares space with the programming of the Mercè Arts de Carrer de la Estació del Nord, which in the mornings will be dedicated to children; in the afternoons, it will be open to all kinds of audiences; and in the evenings, variety shows will take over. A perfect plan to combine culture and gastronomy in the same space.
