
A race up the stairs of the deepest metro station in Barcelona. The celebrations for the centenary of the metro are about to begin and one of the most outstanding activities has already opened registrations to anyone who wants to participate in one of the most outstanding: the chrono-climb up the stairs of the deepest station in Barcelona.
It will be on May 18, when the El Coll / La Teixonera station on L5 will host the activity in the morning, which will consist of climbing the 419 steps of the station, the equivalent of climbing 18 floors. The registration fee will go entirely to the AFANOC association.
How and when will the race take place?
The event will take place on Sunday, May 18, at 10 am, at El Coll / La Teixonera station. Participants will have to climb the 419 steps of the station, from the platform level to the street, in the shortest time possible.
The chrono-climb is a solidarity race organized by the TMB Foundation and Transperfect Mountain Challenge, and is sponsored by Orona. The registration fee will be donated to a charitable cause and will also include a T-shirt with a special design of the chronoescalada, a sports bag and a transport ticket valid for one day. The amount of the inscriptions will go entirely to AFANOC, the association of family and friends of children with cancer in Catalonia.
How to sign up for the Barcelona metro time trial?
Registration, which will be available online until March 24 or until all places are taken, will cost 16 euros, and it is recommended to reserve a place as places are limited. Registration can only be done online through the City Council website.
