An intimate birthday at a beautiful restaurant in the city
Intimate or not, a visit to these restaurants is well worth it. Finding a nice place to celebrate a birthday is not easy, so it’s a good idea to look at this list and find one that appeals to you. From places with a retro and classic feel to charming terraces or restaurants with exquisite décor and sea views. And of course, all with delicious food to blow out the candles in style.
Nobu, enjoy panoramic views of the city
Editorial credit: Nobu Restaurant.
Located on the 23rd floor of the Nobu Hotel,it offers panoramic views of the city and the sea. That alone makes it worthy of being on this list. But there’s more, of course. It is inspired by classic Tokyo cuisine and the travels of its chef, Nobu, through South America. The end result is an extensive menu that includes innovative dishes and bold cocktails. Some of the most popular dishes are yellowtail sashimi with jalapeños and black cod with miso.
Guests can dine at the sushi bar or in the dining room, depending on their preference. Both spaces are worthy of admiration.

Dine on tableware worthy of Philip II at Rilke Restaurant
How do you imagine it would be to dine in a hall at Versailles? That is the question that Rilke Barcelona has sought to bring into the 21st century with its dining room decorated in red velvet and wallpaper. In addition, the restaurant offers a menu based on simplicity, created by chefs Rafa Peña and Jaime Tejedor.
Carrer de Mallorca, 275
Give the gift of an immersive experience
They have become fashionable in Barcelona, and once you visit, you understand why. Immersive experiences are the Chiqui Park of adults, a different way to have fun and an original place to celebrate a birthday, where traditional gymkhanas reach another level thanks to technology, becoming 3D walks through imaginary (but very real) worlds or interactive journeys.
Candlelight, a birthday by candlelight

Celebrating a birthday surrounded by thousands of candles while listening to Vivaldi, Phil Collins, or Joan Manuel Serrat is not something you easily forget. Candlelight turns every concert into an immersive experience where music and light completely change the way you enjoy a live performance. Its concert program in Barcelona brings together tributes for all tastes, in venues that transform any night into a memory you ‘ll always want to repeat.
SENSAS

The problem with birthdays is the hassle of managing a large group. Any experience that goes beyond the everyday requires a minimum of organization and team management, and SENSAS has it all figured out. In groups and for all ages, you’ll face challenges designed to test your five senses: smell, touch, hearing, taste, and sight. And the best part is that they have a group booking system, perfect if you want to enjoy the space exclusively and challenge everyone to push their limits together.
📍 C/ Entença, 91-93, Bajos 2
The Jury Experience

The Jury Experience offers an original way to celebrate a birthday through immersive theater. In this experience, participants take on the role of jurors and must listen to testimonies, cross-examinations, and forensic evidence before deciding whether the defendant is innocent or guilty. Each performance presents a different case, from murder trials to robberies, in a format that combines acting and group discussion.

Compete with friends in a team game
Getting your adrenaline pumping, burning a few calories, and, above all, competing in a friendly atmosphere is a very fun group activity and a great idea if you’re looking to celebrate an active birthday. Barcelona offers a variety of experiences that combine physical activity
Alfa 5, the world’s largest XR Sports center

In Poblenou, we find this space, which offers nine activities of varying levels of physical intensity, allowing us to enjoy XR Sports, traditional sports with a new layer of reality thanks to technology. If you go with friends, you can have a great time playing Flatball (the crown jewel, a game exclusive to the space), soccer where the goalposts move, or a first-person shooter-style war with virtual reality glasses, among other game mechanics.
📍 Alfa5 XR Sports. c/ Almogàvers, 169
Play Point BCN, laser tag

In Barcelona, there are two centers specializing in laser tag, and few activities are simpler. You go in with your friends, put on your vests, load your weapons, and run through the mazes trying to conquer the opposing base. It’s a super fun way to celebrate a birthday with all your friends and make the group that loses the game pay for the beers afterwards.

Try an exotic brunch to celebrate your birthday morning
Brunch is already a religion in Barcelona, and if you haven’t tried it yet, it’s high time you found a free weekend morning to try one of these authentic tributes to gluttony.
There are so many brunches in Barcelona that the classics are already familiar to us, and some new, original, and themed options have begun to emerge. From the Peruvian brunch at Tasseta Verda to the Latin brunch at Aprada, any option is a good choice for a birthday treat in the morning to cure the hangover from the night before.
Piñata Cantina, Mexican brunch
An authentic Mexican cantina (one of many good ones in the city) that now also offers brunch every Sunday from 12 p.m. 4 p.m., featuring both sweet and savory dishes such as enchiladas (tacos covered in sauce), chilaquiles (tortilla chips served with egg and chicken), and crepes with cajeta (goat’s milk caramel) and café a la olla (coffee served in a pot).
Pamper yourself at a spa
There’s nothing like ending or starting a birthday by pampering ourselves the way we’d like to be pampered every day of the year. Few places are better for celebrating a birthday for adults than a spa, where the thermal waters, massages, and baths help us shake off the stress of the other 364 days of the year.
AIRE Ancient Baths
Editorial credit: AIRE Ancient Baths.
We fell in love with them as soon as we discovered them. The first one opened in Barcelona, in the Born district. Hidden under one of the portals of Passeig Picasso, in an old warehouse from the late 18th century, these thermal baths perfectly combine modern character and traditional essence. A place that exudes beauty and where you will find massages, aromatherapy, and all kinds of body and facial treatments to pamper yourself.
Inspired by the bathing traditions of the ancient Roman, Greek, and Ottoman civilizations, AIRE is always located in restored historic buildings in city centers. In addition to water, AIRE always recreates an atmosphere of magic and sophistication.

MasSpa, at Mas de Torrent Hotel & Spa

We dare to say that MasSpa is,in our opinion, one of the three best spas in Catalonia. This is due to the quality of the spa, its location, and its surroundings. It is located in none other than a 5* hotel, the Mas de Torrent Hotel & Spa,just a few kilometers from Begur, on the Costa Brava.
The MasSpa space has more than 600 m² dedicated to sport, relaxation, well-being, and calm. In short, it is a place designed for holistic care, with a heated pool, treatment rooms, dry sauna and hammam, water circuit, and activities such as yoga, meditation, Pilates, and more.
In addition, the range of treatments and massages is provided by Natura Bissé and Comfort Zone, pioneers in cosmetics and wellness products.

A getaway
As the corny saying goes, getting lost is often the best way to find yourself. That’s why there are few better places to celebrate a birthday than those far from our usual surroundings. A getaway outside Barcelona is already a good plan, but if we add a fun experience to it, the birthday will be perfect.
Nomading, bubble camping
It’s a couple of hours from Barcelona, but it’s worth it. Nomading Camp is a campsite where you sleep in bubble rooms with the sky as your ceiling. The bubbles are fully equipped, with private bathrooms and breakfast included, and even a telescope for stargazing. A luxurious experience to celebrate a birthday in style.

Gastronomic getaway to Nomo Far in Sant Sebastià

Getting out of Barcelona is good. Going out to eat is even better. But going out for sushi in an old lighthouse literally sitting on the sea is priceless. This place, one of our favorite restaurants on the Costa Brava, is wonderful, and the food has the seal of quality of the Nomo group, regulars of Japanese cuisine in Barcelona. There are few better places to celebrate a big birthday.

Barbecue with friends in the countryside
The title says it all. What could be better than grilling some meat or calçots in the middle of nature to celebrate a birthday with friends? Low-cost, self-made and, Anglicisms aside, a lot of fun.
Les Planes picnic area
The most classic. The only picnic area in Collserola that is easily accessible by train is also the most popular, so it’s best to book in advance. That way, you can enjoy a barbecue area and tables surrounded by trees and an open space for kicking a ball around. Music, atmosphere, barbecue, and a return trip by train so that no driver has to miss the toast.
📍 BV-1462, Carrer Vallvidrera a Sant Cugat, Km. 6.5
Barbacoa Vegues Valparaíso
Further away, but in an idyllic setting. If you haven’t been to Begues yet, now’s the time, and you can take the opportunity to celebrate your birthday at a Valparaíso barbecue, a great place in the heart of the Garraf Natural Park, with a huge circular barbecue in the center, and an affordable cost of 15 euros per car (including firewood).
📍 Take the N340 highway, exit at Avinyó Nou, and head towards Begues on the BV-2411.
Can Jané, if you don’t feel like cooking

Its specialty is Catalan cuisine and grilled meats. And what a grill! In addition, the vegetables are from its own garden and are seasonal. All this in a natural setting, in an 18th-century family farmhouse located in the Serra de Collserola and just 10 minutes from Barcelona. Surrounded by nature, next to the Hermitage of Sant Medir, it’s the perfect setting to disconnect from the city without having to go far. It’s also the perfect excuse to take advantage and climb Tibidabo.

Treat yourself to a gastronomic delight (or not)
Buying yourself something beautiful or delicious is clearly an unbeatable way to treat yourself on your birthday. Barcelona is full of great concept stores and original shops where you can find authentic gifts, but it’s also a good idea to put together the basket of any foodie’s dreams by visiting one of the city’s gourmet shops.
Unusual*
The name alone prepares you for what you’re going to find. The most unusual objects. I’m talking about rings carved from stone or plates with designs so beautiful that it would be a shame to eat off them.
Unusual*opened its doors in 2019, becoming one of the firstconcept storesin the Poblenou neighborhood, one of the most avant-garde and influential neighborhoods in the field of design in Barcelona. It is a concept store based on the sale of unusual and original products. These include shoes, furniture, magazines, and fanzines…

Vila Viniteca, a gourmet paradise
The dream store for anyfoodie. Vila Viniteca has a small empire in the lower part of El Born, on Carrer Agullers, where it has several premises, including a wine bar with more than 10,000 references and a locked section where the most special bottles are kept.
On the other hand , there is the gourmet shop, with all kinds of premium foods and a jewel in the crown, a cheese chamber with more than 200 names from all over the world, which is a place to lose yourself and never return.

Vacation in your own city
We can think of few better plans. Rediscovering our own city as if we were those tourists who sometimes overwhelm us is a great plan, another way of seeing the city, like someone looking at their house from atop a table. There are many options for doing so, but here are a few for you to choose the one you like best.
Diacaciones, one-day vacations

There is a company dedicated to facilitating this concept of vacations in your own city, which they call “day vacations.” It’s called Hotel Break, and we’ve already told you about it because we liked the idea of waking up at home one day, then going to a hotel spa and sleeping in a hotel room, only to return home the next day to sleep in your own bed. It’s a complete experience that can be a fantastic gift.
Casa Bonay, the house hotel

A hotel that seeks to integrate itself into neighborhood life and succeeds. There aren’t many like it. Beyond its rooms, its cocktail bar The Libertine, its micro-bookstore, its music sessions, and its gastronomic initiatives are a perfect excuse to consider spending a night there.
Concerts and festivals

There’s nothing like going to a concert or festival to celebrate your birthday. Listening to live music and partying with your friends is probably one of the best ways to celebrate, so here’s a list of concerts and festivals taking place in the city so you don’t miss a thing and can get your tickets.
The Jazz Room

Inside the Jamboree, The Jazz Room pays tribute to the origins of jazz with an atmosphere reminiscent of old speakeasies. Here you can hear songs like Feeling Good and Let’s Get It On at jazz, soul, and blues concerts that change every week. A great option for celebrating your birthday with live music and the charm of one of the best jazz clubs in Barcelona.

Ballet of Lights

Ballet of Lights offers a birthday celebration with an elegant and unique touch. This dance show combines classical ballet with fiber optic-illuminated costumes that transform the stage into a play of light and movement. An original plan to celebrate surrounded by art, music, and two beloved stories: Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella.
