A few days ago we made you a route through our favorite farmhouses in Empordà. Not too far from these haven of peace and harmony, today we want to tell you about restaurants located in this area that, for us, have become essential destinations.
And it is that, without a doubt, complementing our trip to the Empordà or to a beach on the Costa Brava with a lunch or dinner at one of these restaurants will elevate our experience to one of the best plans of the summer.

To indulge yourself, since its menus are not exactly cheap because this restaurant has 2 Michelin Stars. The tasting menu is priced at 150€ and includes delicacies such as scalded cockles with tomato water, creamy cod brandade with grilled onion, diced bacon, lamb cooked at low temperature with creamy spinach, pine nuts and raisins or baked apple ice cream with puff pastry.
They also offer the chef’s menu, which is even more sophisticated, with dishes such as oyster fossil (with Gouthier oyster no. 1, ice cream, cucumber and basil) the thai razor in thai sauce or the matured old cow tartare with truffled and cured yolk.

Nun’s House
One of the few restaurants where they still serve bread upon arrival. In their dishes you will find organic ingredients, of local fish and fish of the day from Cap de Creus. In addition, Casa Nun can boast of having one of the best paellas on the Costa Brava, both to take away and to eat on the terrace overlooking the sea.
Among the antique furniture, but well cared for, and the tiles reminiscent of a virgin Greek island lost in the Mediterráneo (come on, as was the ancient essence of the Costa Brava), you will find the best traditional cuisine mixed with gastronomic innovations of the latest level. And if you repeat, as is likely, Patxi, the owner, will remember your name and what you ate last time to recommend his new creation or the dish of the day, as it still retains the familiar treatment that has been lost in so many overcrowded places.

Nomo Far de Sant Sebastià
The Nomo is one of our favorite Japanese restaurants in Barcelona. It has several locations, although in the capital, undoubtedly the most beautiful is the one in Jardinets de Gràcia. Outside of Barcelona, Nomo boasts its star location: the Far de Sant Sebastià. It is located at the top of Llafranc, a small coastal town known for its beaches and the charm of its streets. From up there we can contemplate spectacular views, and, of course, a Japanese offer that is not far behind. The menu offers grilled and raw food and a generous variety of nigiris and makis.

Mooma
We have already talked about them in this video because they made the first cider in Catalonia. Beyond that, its cuisine and surroundings are very good value for money.
Being completely surrounded by apple trees, this ingredient could not be missing in their dishes. It is present in several dishes, such as tuna tataki with creamy apple and onion, but there are also proposals such as tomato tartar with spring onion and tuna belly, Verde asparagus with smoked salmon and pistachio sauce, zucchini carpaccio with Parmesan and Fontclara oil, Palamos shrimp and turbot with vegetables.

Almadraba Park Hotel Restaurant
With a spectacular terrace overlooking the sea, the restaurant of the Almadraba Park Hotel in Roses never ceases to amaze us. Its forte is fresh fish, we recommend you its tuna assortment and eat all its parts following the order advised by the restaurant. A real delight for the palate. You can also try their arroz caldoso or grilled meats.
In addition, if you go at night and you feel like having a cocktail after dinner, you can find a varied menu prepared by Manel Vehí from Empordà.

The Motel
It is located in the Hotel Empordà (Figueres), with amazing views from the top. Its cuisine is based on local, seasonal and market products; three maxims that have led it to become one of the references of the Empordà gastronomy. It offers the Seasonal Flavors Menu, a proposal to showcase the flavors and textures of local products.

Miramar by Paco Pérez
It has become one of the most important in Catalonia, not only on the Costa Brava. What Paco Perez plays seems to have an unmistakable stamp that leads to recognition almost immediately. This one in particular, has 2 Michelin stars and several options: the menu (with a renewed vision of the most traditional cuisine), the tasting menu (which is a journey through the most recent creative universe of chef Paco Pérez) and the traditional menu (a smaller version that includes proposals from the menu).

El Salat at Wecamp Cala Montgó
The restaurant El Salat has opened recently and we can already tell you that it is not the typical camping restaurant. Not at all. It is located inside the Wecamp of Cala Montgó, but both its design and the gastronomic offer reveal what you can already sense when you enter: that it is a restaurant worth trying. Both the interior of the restaurant and its outdoor terrace, at the foot of a swimming pool, are ideal for relaxing in summer.
The menu includes dishes such as beet tartar with black olives, orange and dill or roasted eggplant with mackerel, quinoa, kaisou sauce and sprouts. Also rice dishes, such as sea and mountain rice with pork ribs, chicken wings confit, squid, crayfish, beans and asparagus or fish and seafood fideuá.
