We are accustomed to think everything for the same age group and for a certain type of life. But Barcelona is also diverse in ages, in lifestyles and, although unfortunately things are getting more and more difficult, there are still many families who want to enjoy a weekend, a holiday or a long weekend together without having to resort to the usual park.
Here we leave you a selection of plans to do with children in Barcelona that we have loved, so that the whole family can enjoy them and spend a great weekend for all ages.

Paradox Museum
As fun as it is educational, the Paradox Museum is an ideal space for those who enjoy testing logic and perception. The museum has 7 interactive spaces to surprise you with optical effects and other deceptions of perception: although it may look like magic, it’s all science! It is also an ideal place to take fun photos to make the family album grow.
📍 Location: Pl. Urquinaona, 3
Tickets: General admission: 18€ / Children and reduced admission: 14€.
Alfa5
In an old and mythical gym in Poblenou has opened Alfa5, the largest XR Sports center in the world. This concept refers to expanded sports, those that add layers of technology to play in different ways. For example, the space features a soccer game where the goal keeps moving, a virtual reality version of tennis, virtual paragliding and a game that mixes digital art with physical activity called Flatlball, among other activities. This is an ideal plan to promote physical activity and team play among children. However, due to the intensity of some of its activities , it is not suitable for children under 7 years old, from this age they will have a great time!
Location: c/ Almogàvers, 169
Tickets: from 17€.
Goya Universe: between light and darkness
Bringing the little ones of the house closer to classical art is easier with immersive exhibitions, and now we have in Barcelona an excellent exponent: one dedicated entirely to Francisco de Goya. With its digital art, immersive room, scenarios that recreate the painter’s time or a virtual reality activity, this experience will delight them and will make them learn art and history in the most entertaining way.
Location: Centre d’Art Amatller. Passeig de Gracia, 41
📅 Dates: from February 27th
Tickets: from 10,5€.
AMAZÔNIA
A fun way to bring children closer to current affairs and make them aware of what matters is through culture. That’s why AMAZÔNIA, Sebastião Salgado’s great exhibition on the Amazon, is a perfect activity for children to learn about the importance of the “lungs of the planet” and get to know cultures far removed from our own. They will do so through more than 200 beautiful photographs and an immersive sound ambience created by Jean-Michel Jarre.
📍 Location: Les Drassanes Reials.
💸 Tickets: From 10,50€.
SENSAS Barcelona, a challenge to the senses
SENSAS is a sensory experience located in Entença street. Here, the five senses of those who dare to participate -including the little ones- will be put to the test.
Far from being intimidating, the challenges in complete darkness become an opportunity to enhance the rest of the senses, awakening skills that will make you feel like a real superhero. Challenges range from dodging lasers and getting prizes to recognizing smells and sounds in the dark.
In addition, all completed challenges will be converted into donations to the local association AURA that supports people with functional diversity.
📍 Location: Carrer d’Entença, 91-93, Bajos 2 (Eixample)
💸 Tickets: from 22 €. Tickets for groups of children here.
Take them for chocolate!
Fresh milk and a cup filled to the brim. And if it’s with churros, even better. Drinking a cup of chocolate not only makes us feel a little clumsy when we get our hands dirty, but it also makes us feel like children because it is a very cold weather tradition when we were kids. That’s why taking your children to one of the best chocolate shops in the city (either for a cup of churros or to buy some good chocolates) is one of the most typical family plans of the season and one of the most enriching (never better said).
📍 Location: Several locations. Check here our list of chocolate shops.
Jungle Tag: obstacle course
Jungle Tag offers you the opportunity to overcome different challenges in a jungle environment. You can climb ropes and walls, challenge the mirror maze, jump in the giant ball room, explore the tubes and much more.
With an electronic bracelet you can score points by touching the LEDs that light up on the obstacles.
📍 Location: Carrer del Silici, 9, Cornellà de Llobregat.
Interactive space Clik of CosmoCaixa
The CLIK space at CosmoCaixa is an interactive educational experience designed for children between 3 and 11 years old. This newly renovated space allows children to explore scientific concepts through play.

La Puntual Puppet Theater

Montjuïc Cable Car
A journey of 750 meters and a drop of 85 meters is what the Montjuïc Cable Car saves every day in its journey up the mountain. Adapted for people with reduced mobility, it has easy and safe access to the cabins, where you can control the kids until you reach any of the stations.
Going with the family to the Mirador de l’Alcalde or the Castell de Montjuïc, located 173 meters above sea level, can be a family plan to enjoy together the panoramic view of the city and the port of Barcelona.
📍 Location: Avinguda Miramar, 30
FilmoXica children’s film series
Bringing quality cinema closer to children so that they can experience the pleasure of going to a movie theater and eating popcorn is the goal of the FilmoXica children’s film series from January to March.
Every three months they organize a cycle with films of all times, from different cultures and countries and related to moments and traditions of the calendar that help children to get into the cinema and understand it in its most artistic side.
There will also be sessions for all ages, workshops, presentations and concerts that will make the experience of going to the movies something special.
📍 Location: Filmoteca. Plaça Salvador Seguí, 1. The projections are made in several rooms.
Visit the Fabra Observatory
It is one of the 4 oldest observatories in the world that is still active, something very rare to see in astronomy. Its scientific activity focuses on the study of asteroids and comets, and if you want, parents and children can also observe them through the telescope.
Organizing a visit to the stars with the family has never been easier, as they organize guided tours of the museum, dome every weekend and they will explain the stars that can be seen that day.
📍 Location: Camí de l’Observatori, s/n
Xocolata Museum
The spirit of Barcelona’s sweetest museum is to spread the culture and tradition of chocolate and explain its relationship with Barcelona and Catalonia. What makes this plan ideal for children is that they do it through games, workshops and factory tours.
They organize a set of workshops designed for children from 3 to 16 years old and also for over 16 years old and you can check their program here.
📍 Location: C/ del Comerç, 36
Tibidabo
With more than 120 years of history, leisure and culture of Barcelona, Tibidabo Amusement Park offers a magical experience to go with children, with emblematic and modern attractions (such as the Talaia, the Avió, the Muntanya Russa or the Virtual Express), unique shows (such as the Krüeger Hotel or the Marionetarium) and gastronomic spaces (such as the Club dels Aventurers).
📍 Location: Pl. del Tibidabo, 3, 4
Sticker exchange in Sant Antoni
Years ago, you couldn’t buy 20 packs of stickers together, and you had to do what you could with what you had. Unfair exchanges, or incredible bargains. Sometimes you had to trade one Eternatus for five cards, but hey, good for you.
Well, the epicenter of trading cards in Barcelona happens every Sunday at the Sant Antoni Market. There are stalls of all kinds, and if you want to start building a collection with your kids… take a walk this coming weekend and check out what’s being traded.
📍 Location: Carrer del Comte d’Urgell, 1
Candlelight
Candlelight offers the little ones of the house the opportunity to enter the world of music in a magical environment. These concerts illuminated by thousands of LED candles are open to children over 8 years old, allowing the whole family to enjoy an unforgettable evening with their favorite music (classical and contemporary). Discover their program now!

📍 Location: Can Balasch de Baix, s/n
Outdoor play areas
Generations grow, tastes change, but playgrounds remain. Far from the classic swings, today’s parks have an infinity of structures where children have fun while being active. Barcelona has a large number of playgrounds, some of them very large, so fun is guaranteed.
📍 Location: Several locations
Barcelona Bosc Urbà
In the family circuit Barcelona Bosc Urbà you can spend the best weekend of your life jumping, flying and testing your skills in complete safety. The attractions are outdoors, protected from the sun and rain, and are perfect for a family outing, fun with friends or to celebrate the children’s birthdays.
