The legend of Sant Jordi is written on paper with a feather made from the stem of a rose, but from now on also on the flaky dough of a croissant thanks to the Brunells bakery, which has created the first croissant dragon in history.
The emblematic bakery of the Born has launched a croissant of butter, raspberries and rosewater that emulates the shape of an adorable dragon.
The creation is a limited edition that is based on the croissant with the recipe that was the best artisan butter croissant in Spain in 2020 and 2024. The croissant-dragon is worth 5.10 and will be produced, initially only this April 23.
Dragon-croissant, rose-croissant and book-croissant
In addition to the dragon croissant, Brunells is bringing back one of its recent successes, the croissant rose. It is a puff pastry flower with apple and berries that looks, in essence, like a street rose, but edible.
For those undecided between letters and pastries, the bakery also offers the book cake, a dessert in individual format designed to accompany reading. It is made with sponge cake sheets, butter cream with hazelnut praline, lemon and a thin layer of egg yolk.
The savory side is completed by the classic Sant Jordi bread, with cheese, sobrassada and walnuts, and in the shape of the Catalan flag, a classic of this holiday whose best versions can be found all over Barcelona.
