If there’s one thing we love in Barcelona, beyond a good terrace or discovering a ghost metro station, it’s eating well. But really eating well, in a way that makes you feel like you’re tasting the future of gastronomy before anyone else.On March 16, the city has a date marked in red on the culinary calendar: a pop-up dinner that brings together, for the first time after the competition, the cream of the crop of chefs who are revolutionizing Catalan cuisine.
The venue chosen is the Reversible restaurant, the gastronomic space of the Hotel Indigo Plaza España, which will become the epicenter of emerging talent. The event, dubbed ‘Generació del 25’, is not just any dinner; it is a display of technique and local produce featuring five of the six finalists of the Cuiner de l’Any 2025 award from the Gastronomic Forum Barcelona.
A menu with the stamp of New Catalan Cuisine
The proposal is ambitious and has that air of exclusivity that appeals to us so much: a tasting menu consisting of a welcome cocktail, six courses designed by the protagonists, and a dessert to close the circle. At the stoves will be the winners of the competition, Helena Termes and Jeffrey Ruiz from La Cort del Mos (Palamós), together with the teams from El Raier (La Pobla de Segur), Cup Vell (Tarragona), Franca (Barcelona), and Arrel/Casa Parera (Mataró).
Víctor Alfageme, chef at Reversible, will be the host and master of ceremonies, not only opening the doors of his kitchen, but also contributing his creative vision to the appetizer and dessert. The idea is clear: to celebrate what Pep Palau, director of the Gastronomic Forum, calls the new ethics of the profession, a cuisine that reinterprets tradition without losing sight of sustainability and the territory.
Young talent leading the way
For more than fifteen years , the Cuiner de l’Any award has been the infallible radar for detecting those who will set the trends in haute cuisine. This dinner is the embodiment of that generational change. For those unfamiliar with Reversible’s philosophy, the restaurant is already a benchmark in the Montjuïc area for its ability to transform classic Mediterranean dishes into contemporary experiences, famous for details such as its unique six-pronged fork, the “peineta.”
This ephemeral collaboration seeks to create synergies between chefs from different parts of Catalonia, from the Pyrenees of Lleida to the shores of the Costa Brava, concentrating all these flavors in a single night on Gran Via. It is, in essence, an opportunity to sample the work of five different restaurants without leaving Barcelona.
How to get one of the coveted spots
As is often the case with these pop-up events, exclusivity reigns supreme. There will only be 60 places available to enjoy this twelve-handed feast. The price is 70 euros per person and tickets can be purchased on the Reversible website, a more than reasonable price considering that it includes the full menu with wine pairing from Raventós Codorníu wineries.
The event starts at 8:30 p.m. and reservations are already flying. If you want to discover what the generation that is transforming the gastronomic paradigm of Catalonia tastes like, we recommend you don’t think twice. After all, it’s not every day that you have the best young chefs in the country cooking under the same roof.
