Aeromexico will resume its direct connection between Mexico City and Barcelona as of March 28, 2026. This new route will operate 6 weekly frequencies, and will be added to the one already operated by airlines such as Emirates during 2025 between both cities.
The connection, which will have prices per way around 600 euros, according to the latest data available on the company’s website, will be operational during the summer season, until October 24, 2026.
The recovery of this route is part of the objectives of the Strategic Plan 2024-2025 of the Barcelona Air Routes Development Committee (CDRA). This achievement is the result of “intense joint work” between the airline and this committee, made up of Aena, the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Barcelona City Council and the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce.
In 2024, passenger flow between Barcelona and Mexico City reached 156,000, of which 44,000 were indirect. The Mexican capital is a main destination for air exports from Barcelona and one of the main import origins. In addition, there are intense tourist flows, business ties and a significant local Mexican community based in Barcelona.
Through Aeromexico’ s hub in Mexico City, the route will also allow connections to other cities such as Guadalajara, Monterrey, Cancun, Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal, among other cities in North America.
