Traveling long distances by bus is usually synonymous with discomfort: little room to stretch out, impossible postures and guaranteed back pain. But that’s about to change.
The start-up Twiliner has just announced the first night bus that will connect Barcelona with several European cities, where passengers will be able to travel almost like in first class but with coach prices.
Sleeper bus travel with bar and wifi
All journeys will be at night: departing at night and arriving at dawn, thus offering a complete rest during the trip.
What makes this bus special is its premium concept at an economical price. The seats transform into fully reclining beds, perfect for hours of rest. In addition, the vehicle has two floors, more than twenty seats, a small bar, changing areas and fast internet connection with wifi on board.
Tickets are now available and are divided into three modes: standard (no refund), semi-flexible (refund up to 30 days before travel) and flexible (cancellation up to 72 hours before travel). All include a piece of hand luggage up to seven kilos.
Where to go sleeping on a bus
From November, Barcelona residents will be able to board the new bus at strategic points in the city center to go to European destinations.
At the moment, the service only covers four countries: Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg and Spain, although it hopes to connect with more European cities in the future. Thus, there are cities such as Amsterdam, Bern, Zurich, Luxembourg or Rotterdam.
The price aims to be affordable. At the moment, from Barcelona there are tickets to Zurich and Bern that are around 150 euros. From there, one can move to other cities in the area connected to the Swiss capital for different prices.
