If you are one of those who enjoy the train more than the plane, we have news for you: from December 14, 2025, Barcelona and Seville will be a little bit closer thanks to Ouigo. The low cost high speed company has launched a new direct route, yes, without having to get off the train in Madrid and wait half a lifetime.
The journey will take about six hours and, although it is direct, it will make quick stops in Zaragoza, Madrid and Cordoba. Perfect for stretching your legs or your collection of stories, while watching Spain pass from north to south.
Breakfast in Barcelona, lunch in Seville: the timetables of the new connection.
- From Barcelona: departure at 7:35 am and arrival in Seville at 1:50 pm. Ideal for breakfast in the city and lunch near the Torre del Oro.
- From Seville: departure at 5:02 pm, arrival in Barcelona at 8:03 pm. Perfect time for an express tapas before arriving home.
Tickets from 20€.
Tickets start at 49 euros for December, and if you want to look further ahead, there are dates in January and February from 22 or 25 euros. Not bad for a journey that used to require a change of train and a coffee wait in Madrid.
So now you know: if your thing is to get away for a weekend, eat tapas in Seville and return without complications, this train can be your new ally. Just remember to book before tickets sell out and leave the car at home, the low cost AVE takes care of everything.
