If you use public transport in Barcelona, you can breathe a sigh of relief. The good news has just landed in Barcelona: the integrated transport tickets of the metropolitan area will keep their 50% discount from January 1, 2026.
This agreement, reached after negotiations between the Government of Catalonia and the city councils of the metropolitan area, guarantees that the most popular passes, the T-Usual and T-Jove, will continue with their discounted prices in all areas of Catalonia.
Which tickets will remain at half price and what does this announcement mean?
The tickets that will keep this important reduction are mainly those that promote a recurrent use of transport, seeking to promote sustainable mobility and offer a respite to the family economy. Thus, the T-Jove and T-Usual will remain at half price, as confirmed by the president of the Grup Parlamentari dels Comuns, Jéssica Albiach, after her meeting with the Councillor of Territori, Sílvia Paneque.
As for the distribution of the bonus, the forecast is that the Generalitat assumes 30% of the cost and the central State contributes the remaining 20%, following the scheme that has been applied so far.
It is important to remember which passes are left out of this rebate: single tickets and the T-Casual were not already included in the 50% rebate and, therefore, their prices will remain as they are.

The fourth year of frozen prices (almost) and the new state season ticket
This announcement makes 2026 the fourth consecutive year in which the T-Usual maintains a subsidized price, a period that began in September 2022. Although there have been small upward adjustments in recent years (from the initial €20 in 2022 to €22 in 2025), maintaining the rebate at half is a considerable effort to continue to encourage the use of public transport, a measure that was originally implemented to address the escalating prices resulting from the energy crisis.
In addition, the Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, has clarified that these discounts are compatible with the new state season ticket announced by Pedro Sánchez, which will consist of a unified ticket for Rodalies, medium distance and state buses for €60 per month, and which is scheduled to start operating in January. In other words, the ATM discounts will remain “intact” and will coexist with this new additional product.
In short, good news for the people of Barcelona, who will be able to continue benefiting from prices that seek to facilitate day-to-day life and continue betting on public mobility.
