The spokeswoman of the Govern, Sílvia Paneque, confirmed this Tuesday in a press conference after communicating the weekly agreements of the Catalan Consell Executiu that the 50% discount on the T-Jove transport pass will be maintained in 2026.
The cost of the youth season ticket will be 44 euros plus the planned price update according to the Consumer Price Index (CPI), which in 2025 was 3%.
As detailed, the Ministry of Transport has already communicated its commitment to continue assuming the full cost of the discount for the youngest group for next year.
Still up in the air is the extension of the T-Usual, on which there is still no official agreement between the State and the Metropolitan Transport Authority (ATM). An agreement is expected to be reached before December 31.
In parallel, any measure will have to be part of the budget negotiations with the parliamentary groups of ERC and Comuns in the Parliament.
Whether there is a reduction or not, the Govern warns: the base fares for public transport will be updated in line with the CPI to meet the costs of maintenance and improvement of the network.
