Craziness on the public transportation issue. After announcing first that the subsidies would fall, then that they would be approved but only until June, then see how they fell with the omnibus decree in Congress and now, as they were finally approved, we finally have the definitive prices of public transport (metro, bus, Rodalies…) until June 2025.
We also have an application date: it will be from Thursday, January 29, when the prices will be the same as those announced days before the earthquake in Congress.
We explain everything here and we leave you the definitive prices (now yes) of public transport in 2025 so that you have a complete guide.
When will the subsidized prices for public transportation be active?
From January 29, 2025 and until June, when another subsidy program will come into force that will adjust the subsidies to limit them to vulnerable groups.
How are the prices of metro and bus in Barcelona?

Collateral effects of the Omnibus Decree
The approval of the omnibus decree with social measures has allowed, apart from the aid to transport, the approval of the increase in pensions and some other unexpected concessions, such as the broadcasting of La 2 entirely in Catalan, which Junts has wrested from the PSOE and which represents an important boost to the use of Catalan in the audiovisual sector.
It now remains to know the details of the new system of bonuses that will come into force in June, and which will replace the current one.
