It is no secret that artists like Rosalía, Bad Gyal, Dua Lipa or Katy Perry are, in addition to musical icons, real walking catwalks. They set trends and their looks accumulate millions of likes on Instagram. If you’ve ever wondered where they get those ‘outfits’ or how you could get one, the answer is that many of these firms are in Barcelona, and specifically in a store: Trent, which was the first luxury clothing rental store in Barcelona.
And now, for a few days, this store will make an archive sale to sell some of their clothes at half price for a few days only, so make sure you don’t miss a single outfit.
An archive sale for a limited time only
This very special ‘archive sale’ will take place from Tuesday 26th to Friday 29th November. During these four days, its spectacular space in the Born (at number 5 carrer Lluís el Pietós) will open its doors from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The promise? Discounts of up to 50% on ‘your favorite brands’, as they have communicated.
Although Trent is keeping a mystery about the exact selection of garments that will hang on the hangers, the store usually works with pieces from brands as powerful as Blumarine or Coperni, as well as other emerging designer brands that are hard to find in Spain. The opportunity to grab a haute couture bargain, therefore, is real.
More than a store, a new consumer model
For those who do not know them, Trent is not an ordinary store. Its usual business model is not sales, but rentals. As its founders, Alejandro Assens and Laia Cuscó, explained to Time Out Barcelona a few months ago, the idea was born after working a lot with artists’ stylists and celebrities.
They wanted to “approach everyone with a new consumption model” which, although very popular in countries like the UK, was completely new in Barcelona.
Normally, their system allows renting luxury garments for a minimum of four days and a maximum of eight (although they claim to be flexible). It is a way of betting on sustainability and circular fashion without having to give up wearing a spectacular design in a special event. Although in this ‘archive sale’ the pieces will be for direct sale, the philosophy of the store goes that way.
