Horrorland, the well-known ‘scream park’ located in Vilassar de Dalt, just half an hour from Barcelona, has inaugurated a new attraction that takes terror to a new level. It is the “Extreme House”, an experience so intense that it requires visitors to sign a legal consent before entering, explicitly assuming “the risk of death”.
This attraction, identified as “XXXorcism [+18] Extreme House,” is one of eight haunted houses the park will offer in its seventh edition. However, it has a key difference: it is an extreme experience designed to be lived individually.
Legal Permission to Die
This year’s season, which kicks off on October 10 and runs through November 16 at Illa Fantasia, will premiere four brand new attractions, with this new “Extreme House” format being one of the highlights.
The most controversial point is the legal document that all participants must sign. In doing so, they voluntarily accept “all the risks” that the experience entails. According to the information provided, this consent details a series of dangers that go far beyond a simple scare.
The list of accepted risks includes the possibility of being spanked, being burned, experiencing choking sensations, coming into contact with fecal matter or poisonous plants, and even the possibility of having the participant’s hair shaved off.
The document culminates with the most serious warning, forcing the visitor to accept “the risk of serious injury and/or death.”
This new proposal of Horrorland, once again considered the “Best Scream Park in Europe”, redefines the limits of horror entertainment. Alongside this attraction, the park (which expects to welcome up to 36,000 people) will debut new participatory and interactive shows.
Tickets have already gone on sale, with a special reduced price starting at €39 that will last only until July 9. However, access to the controversial “Extreme House” is not included in the general admission: the visit can only be guaranteed by purchasing VIP or RIP Tour tickets.
