The streets of Barcelona usually evoke a sense of routine—hurried footsteps heading toward the subway and the constant buzz of its outdoor cafes. However, for a few days, that usual rhythm syncs with the adrenaline and the roar of the most powerful engines on the planet, replacing the pulse of the city with an experience on wheels.
The Formula 1 Barcelona Fan Village opens its doors starting today, Tuesday, June 9, through Saturday, June 13. This venue, located in the central Plaza de Catalunya, is free to visit (prior registration required) from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM daily, bringing the entire world of top-level motorsport to residents and visitors alike.
Speed, technology, and single-seaters just a few meters away
The main attraction of the venue lies in the opportunity to see up close vehicles that are usually only seen on screen. Among the highlights on display are a real Ferrari single-seater and the Aston Martin car driven by Fernando Alonso.
For those looking to experience the adrenaline firsthand, the venue features various official interactive activities from the competition. Attendees can test their skills on professional driving simulators, participate in the Pit Stop Challenge, or capture the moment by taking a photo on an exact replica of the official podium.
Music, workshops, and a tribute to Gaudí
Beyond thespeed, the square is filled with a diverse cultural and entertainment program. The music lineup features performances by artists and groups such as:
- DJ Arla
- Soulful Trio
- Sidral Street Brass Band
- DJ Dolça
- DJ Txarly Brown
- Muchacho y los Sobrinos
The most solemn moment of the week will come courtesy of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, which will offer a special concert performing the work 84 Bells of Gaudí, a piece created to pay tribute to the famous Catalan architect on the centenary of his death.
Meanwhile, the youngest members of the family can enjoy the Kids Zone, a family-friendly area equipped with workshops, educational activities, and Scalextric tracks.
Outreach, live broadcasts, and cuisine
The event schedulealso includes live broadcasts of key championship sessions, such as the qualifying session for the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix. Additionally, the venue will serve as a radio studio for the live broadcast of Radio Marca’s program *La pizarra de Quintana* and will feature technical educational sessions.
Well-known figures from the world of motorsports will share their experiences with the public. Former Formula 1 driver and Aston Martin Aramco ambassador Pedro Martínez de la Rosa will take the main stage to greet fans , while analyst Albert Fàbrega will offer his traditional technical explanations known as FABREGALECCIONES. The entire experience is rounded out by a food court located within the venue itself.
