On May 22, Barcelona will inaugurate Fantàstix del Super3, a 2,000-square-meter cultural center located in the Sagrada Família neighborhood. This new space, promoted by 3Cat and Grup Transversal, brings the children’s channel’s imagination from the digital realm into the physical world for the first time, offering an experience designed for children ages 2 to 12.
The project is presented as an “imagination factory” where attendees participate in a collective mission to defeat the “creative blackout virus.” Through a one-hour tour, the installation combines cutting-edge technology and theatrical storytelling to encourage active participation from families, moving them away from the role of passive spectators.
Technology and tradition in a 4D environment
The Fantàstix project stands out for blending classic stories, such as Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Around the World in 80 Days, with Super3’s most popular characters. Along the way, visitors will interact with characters like Titó, Mic, and the Betas, integrating elements of Catalan culture with immersive experiences that culminate in 4D technology.
Rosa Romà, director of 3Cat, emphasizes that the opening coincides with Super3’s 35th anniversary. According to Romà, this interactive space allows for expanding the community of families and offers an in-person meeting place that reinforces the channel’s values and educational content. For his part, Eudald Tomasa, CEO of Grup Transversal, notes that the model seeks to redefine family entertainment, prioritizing meaningful content and educational storytelling over superficial visual offerings.
Beyond the immersive experience
The offerings will not be limited to the initial interactive tour. Starting in September, the venue will expand its offerings with:
- Theater: An annual program of shows featuring the channel’s characters.
- Services: A themed café and a store specializing in literary and educational products under the 3Cat label.
- Educational context: The center will serve as an educational resource for schools seeking to foster creativity among their students.
Although the general opening is on May 22, this weekend, May 16 and 17, there will be an exclusive opening for the winners of a prior Club Super3 drawing. Regular hours will be Monday through Friday (5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.) and weekends or holidays (10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.). Tickets can now be reserved through official channels.
