Barcelona will celebrate the arrival of the 2026 Tour de France with more than 60 activities spread across the city’s ten districts, ranging from concerts and street performances to culinary and shopping events.
From June 26 to July 5, the Catalan capital will host the Festa Major del Tour, a popular celebration designed to become the city’s third major festival, alongside Santa Eulàlia and La Mercè.
The program will include 10 concerts, 8 performing arts and dance companies, 18 street performances, and a newly created traveling production.
The Plaza de la Catedral and the Plaza Margarida Xirgu will be the two main stages for the festival. The former will feature performances by Doctor Prats, Sexenni, 31 FAM, Suu, Sidonie, Ladilla Rusa, Ambauka, and Xiula, as well as traditional cultural activities such as giant dances and castellers.
Margarida Xirgu Square will host music, dance, circus, and street theater, featuring artists such as Joan Garriga, DJ Trapella, Zum Zum Teatre, and Mercabanda.
They will be accompanied by “Le Tour on Tour,” a spectacle-float led by stage director Sergi Ots that will tour the ten districts between June 27 and July 2, featuring cycling-inspired music and street theater.
It will be complemented by “Barcelona en ruta,” featuring 18 decentralized cultural events that will bring performances and installations to squares, markets, and commercial hubs throughout the city.
Shopping, markets, and cuisine with a Tour flavor

The celebration coincides with Barcelona’s designation as the European Capital of Local Commerce in 2026. Fourteen commercial districts will participate, including El Born, Passeig de Gràcia, Eix Gaudí, and Gran de Gràcia, along with 6 shopping centers, 40 municipal markets, and more than 2,500 businesses.
One of the culinary novelties will be the “Pa del Tour, “ an initiative by the City Council and the Barcelona Bakers’ Guild. Its creator, baker Enric Badia of Forn Elias, has devised a round roll about 12 centimeters in diameter inspired by a bicycle wheel: a loaf-shaped dough made with wheat flour and semolina, olive oil, rosemary, thyme, sun-dried tomatoes, and Comté cheese, decorated with poppy seeds.
The bread will be available at some 2,400 bakeries across the city starting June 26, and the Guild will make the recipe and a tutorial available to all bakers, whether or not they are members.
The icing on the cake: the first stages of the Tour
The Festa Major will serve as the prelude to the Grand Départ. On July 2, the Modernist complex of Sant Pau will host the team presentation, and from July 2 to 5, the Fan Park will be open.
On July 4, the team time trial will take place through the streets of Barcelona, and the following day, July 5, the second stage will reach Montjuïc.
Ten giant jerseys installed throughout all districts and the yellow illumination of iconic buildings will complete the city’s festive atmosphere during these days.
