Starting this Wednesday, May 13, vulnerable families in Barcelona can now apply for financial assistance from the 2026 Children’s Fund. This program, managed by the Institute of Social Services, is aimed at households with children between the ages of 0 and 16 and has an initial budget of 14.4 million euros, with a possible increase of an additional 560,000 euros depending on demand.
The application period will remain open until June 22, 2026. Interested citizens must complete the process online through the Barcelona City Council’s Virtual Services Office, meeting the residency and income requirements set forth in the program guidelines.
Benefit amounts based on the number of children
The amount of assistance is allocated individually for each dependent child, although the total amount varies progressively depending on the composition of the household. The amounts are structured as follows:
- One child: €600
- Two children: €1,050
- Three children: €1,320
- Four children: €1,650
- Five or more children: €1,650 base amount, plus an additional €300 for each additional child.
In addition, the program addresses specific situations. Families holding a single-parent family card may receive a supplement of 600 euros. In cases of joint custody, the benefit will be split 50/50 between both parents.

To be eligible for these grants, it is essential that parents or legal guardians be registered users of the city’s Social Services and be listed in the municipal registry. Additionally, the family income must not exceed the limits set according to the number of members:

How to apply for Fons Infància grants
The process is carried out entirely through the Barcelona City Council’s Virtual Services Office. Families have until June 22 to submit their application and attach the necessary documentation proving compliance with income thresholds and their connection to municipal services.
