That parking is one of the biggest problems for car users in Barcelona is no secret. For some time now, most of the city has had on-street parking regulated, with markings marking blue and Verde zones delimiting parking in the city.
However, we still there are some zones, very few, where you can leave your car free of charge but the truth is that it is complicated, and in the summer, the travel season, things get even worse.
Both zones are paid year-round, but there is a widespread belief that this ceases to be the case in August, the month in which these zones supposedly become free parking. There is a reason for this: until 2015, the Verde and Blue Zones became free in August, making it easier to park in the city.
However, in 2016 this measure was already revoked, and both Zones are payable year-round and maintain the same rates 12 months of the year. Therefore, now, as at any time, users who leave their cars there are obliged to register their license plates and pay the established fee to leave their vehicles.
