That Joc de Cartes has long been directing the eyes of Catalan gourmets to help them decide which restaurant to visit (or avoid) on their next outing is no secret. That it is one of the most watched programs, too, so many were waiting for the arrival of its summer version to entertain these torrid days of heat wave.
And the first edition of the program was dedicated to the most romantic bars and restaurants in the city with a clear winner, the Gran Tonino Piano Club, a bar that, beyond love, was discovered with a unique plan in Barcelona: a giant grand piano on which to rest your drink while singing karaoke.
Tonino, the Toni 2 of Barcelona

If you’ve been to Madrid’s nightlife, you probably know Toni2 in Madrid, a mythical place where a giant grand piano is the center of a bizarre clientele that sings the hits proposed by the pianist. Gran Tonino Piano Club (c/ Marià Cubí, 192) has been inspired by this icon to create a unique place in Barcelona.
The space fuses gastronomy, signature cocktails and live shows in an elegant and fun atmosphere. Dinners and cocktails start at 2 o’clock, with a short but adequate menu.
But from 11:30 p.m. the place transforms into a club, where the piano takes center stage and customers can sing their favorite songs live with their glasses resting on the giant tail of the bar, accompanied by the pianist, who brings out one hit after another.
The house motto is “May the end of the world catch us dancing and singing”, and it is engraved on the piano, defining the carefree and festive spirit that reigns every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday until 3:00 am.
So now you know, we don’t know if it’s for a romantic night, but for a fun one, you can start heading to the upper area of the city.
