Catalan families withchildren under 18have untilnoon on April 27to register for the second call ofthe “Vacances en família”2026 program, which offers23,051 spotsin28 hostels operated by the Government of Cataloniaduring the summer, fall long weekends, and weekends from July through December.
The initiative, promoted by the Catalan Youth Agency (ACJ) and the Catalan Youth Hostel Network (XANASCAT), is now in its 21st year and, across its two annual calls for applications, offers a total of 48,554 spots spread across 853 sessions, benefiting up to 9,173 families. This second call for applications is for 4,412 beneficiary families.
Catalan families residing abroad who are registered in the Registry of Catalans Residing Abroad may also participate.
How to register and when the results will be announced

Interested families can register through the Pre-registration Portal, where they must indicate their preferred dates and hostels. The public lottery will be held on April 29, and the results will be announced on April 30.
Starting May 4, spots will be allocated through direct assignment, and as of May 20, the remaining spots will be available for self-assignment.
Prices and discounts
During the low season, the rate for adults and youths aged 14 and older is 35.50 euros per person per night; during the mid-season, 41.00 euros; and during the high season, 44.00 euros. The price includes VAT, full-board accommodation, linens, and, for stays of more than two days, activities.
For children, those under 3 years old pay nothing. Those aged 4 to 6 receive a 50% discount, and those aged 7 to 13 receive a 25% discount.
People over 65 are eligible for a flat rate of 24 euros during any season, with the aim of making the program an intergenerational experience.
As for discounts by family type, large families and single-parent families receive a 10% discount on the total amount.
Families with children who have a recognized disability of 33% or higher, dependency, or functional diversity are eligible for a 15% discount at hostels directly managed by the ACJ that offer rooms with private bathrooms.
Host families enjoy special discounts starting at 20%.
One thing to keep in mind: in hostels managed directly by the ACJ, dogs are also allowed, with a maximum of two animals per family at a cost of 4.50 euros per animal per night.
