Farewell to the industrial estate without train in Palafolls, hello to offices in Barcelona and with sea views. The Inditex Group has announced the relocation of the headquarters of its brands, which until now were located in the Tordera-Palafolls industrial estate, in the Tres Xemeneies area of Sant Adrià, becoming one of the spearheads of the remodeling of the area.
Thus, the head offices of its brands Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Oysho and Lefties will move to the El Sot industrial estate, on the land occupied by the former Schott Ibérica factory, making way, in the Tordera industrial estate, for Inditex to expand its logistics activities there.
The new offices in Sant Adrià will house the activities of product design and development, pattern making, window dressing, commercial management, e-commerce and technology, among others.
What will the new Inditex campus be like?
The company has defined its future headquarters in Sant Adrià as a “campus” of innovative design, with a separate building for each of the relocated brands. The architectural project will be in charge of the Batlle i Roig studio, which has already collaborated with Inditex in the design of its headquarters in Arteixo, Galicia.
The City Council of Sant Adrià has received the news with joy, highlighting that the arrival of Inditex will be a key factor in the regeneration of the Three Chimneys area and the neighborhood of Sant Joan Baptista, thanks to the arrival of 1,500 workers who will contribute to the economic and social dynamism of the municipality.
An area of the future
Inditex’s arrival at the Les Tres Xemeneies industrial estate is part of the redevelopment of the area, which includes the conversion of the three chimneys into an audiovisual hub.
Recently, the Manifesta Biennial opened this complex to the public for the first time, allowing the people of Barcelona to get closer to a historically forgotten area of the city.
