2 hours north of Barcelona, just across the border, is Le Barcarès, or in other words: the Christmas village of the south of France. Located in Occitania, this place will open one more year this week its big village dedicated to Santa Claus.
From next Saturday, November 29, at Luna Park, the magic of Christmas will permeate the space. Although the distance from Barcelona can be considerable, it is one of the best known family events on the other side of the Pyrenees.
What to do in the Christmas village of Le Barcarès

This 2025, the enclosure, self-styled as “the homeland of Santa Claus”, will deploy a monumental scenography designed to recreate a village of other latitudes, more similar to the one that can be experienced in Lapland, its official home.
In addition to a giant Santa Claus of 18 meters, the village will feature light installations, a large ice rink adapted to all levels, an ice museum and an enchanted forest, which will be a thematic area presided over by a large fir tree.

The gastronomic chalet market area will return with seasonal products such as mulled wine, crêpes, waffles and chocolate, crafts and local specialties from the South of France region.

Le Barcarès will remain open until January 4, 2026, daily from 11:00 am to 01:00 am (last entry allowed at 00:00 am). General admission costs 5 euros for those over 5 years old.
