There is no need to tell you much. I’m sure that just hearing the name of the musician in the headline will make your head spin you are already unwittingly humming one of his tunes you can’t get it out of your head. And if not, we can help you: “Me gustan los aviones, me gustas tu…”.
And now that you have the right soundtrack for this news, we tell you that Manu Chao returns, by the big door 17 years later, to release an album and to program concerts in Barcelona.
The French singer based in Barcelona has released the first single, ‘Viva tu’, part of what will be his new album. La Canción, posted on his Instagram (with more than 820,000 followers), is dedicated to the residents of his neighborhood and “of all the neighborhoods in the world.”
when are Manu Chao’s concerts in Barcelona?
Although the album has not been released yet, the former leader of Mano Negra is playing his new song in the concerts he has been doing, so if you feel like listening to it live, you can come to the two live concerts he will be giving in Barcelona on June 30 and July 3 at Sala Salamandra. If you want to go, run, because there are only a few tickets available for the concert on July 3.
It will be the opportunity to see one of the most prestigious local artists of his style. Manu was the singer of Hot Pants and the lead singer of Mano Negra during the late 1980s and early 1990s, when he embarked on his solo career.
His own style was one of the flags of that “multicultural” Barcelona of the late twentieth century that is now somewhat distant, but Chao’s music is still triumphing in half the world and the singer continues to fill the small halls in which he continues to play avoiding, as always, the big halls or major record labels.
