Mozart’s music is not usually played in the Basilica of the Sagrada Familia. But at the beginning of 2025 it happened. The Requiem, performed by the Orchestra and Choir of the Gran Teatre del Liceu, filled the interior of the temple in a concert that very few were able to witness live. Now, that performance can be seen and heard in its entirety thanks to an audiovisual piece that allows us to relive one of the most impressive concerts held in the basilica in recent years.
It is one of the few occasions in which such a concert has been recorded inside the basilica, and it can also be seen in its entirety: 48 minutes that allow you to follow the evening as it was experienced that night. From the orchestra and the beginning of the Requiem, through the protagonism of the choir, to the intimate atmosphere of the church at night.
The filming is distributed by ARTE Concert and can be easily found online, both on their website and on YouTube. A rare opportunity to listen for free and from home the key work of Mozart’s sacred repertoire in one of the great symbols of Barcelona.
