Sometimes, Disney magic doesn’t just happen at theme parks in Orlando or Paris, but suddenly appears at a hotel on the Costa Daurada or in a municipal theater. It turns out that the kingdom of Corona, that place where floating lanterns light up the sky, is looking for new subjects in Catalonia. After the total chaos that unfolded just a few days ago in Girona, where there were lines stretching up to three kilometers and people sleeping out in the open, now it’s Salou’s turn to host the talent-scouting caravan from the studio of the world’s most famous mouse.
The production of the new live-action adaptation of Tangled has set its sights on Catalonia to recreate its medieval settings. If we recently saw Girona’s Barri Vell transformed into a film set, now it is the town in Tarragona that is preparing for an invasion of aspiring extras. This is no ordinary call for extras: they are looking for more than a thousand people to bring the inhabitants of this fairy-tale universe to life.
Schedule and venues by age group
The selection process has been organized into two in-person sessions depending on the applicants’ age:
- Thursday, April 30 (10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.): Auditions for adults and dancers, both amateurs and professionals, aged 25 to 80. The audition will take place at the Hotel Sol Costa Daurada, with access via Montserrat Roig Street.
- Friday, May 1 (from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.): Auditions for children ages 4 to 12. The auditions will take place in the Sala Europa at the Teatre Auditori Salou, located on Carrer de l’Advocat Gallego.
For young people between the ages of 13 and 24, the organization has set up an exclusively online registration system via a form on its official website.
Requirements for participation
The organization has established strict guidelines for attendees. It is mandatory to present a valid ID (DNI or NIE). Minors must be accompanied by a family member.
As for physical appearance, applicants are required to have no visible tattoos and no dyed hair. No additional restrictions regarding origin or specific physical traits have been specified. Although the company offers a pre-registration form on its website to streamline the process, it has not been clarified whether online registration is a mandatory requirement for the in-person auditions.
The company responsible for the casting has confirmed that this is a paid position. However , the organization is maintaining the usual discretion regarding these projects and has not officially confirmed the film’s title, although the requirements match those of recent calls for applicants in other locations such as Girona.
Those interested are advised that, due to the expected turnout, registration may close earlier than scheduled if the venue reaches maximum capacity.
