When the FNAC closed, many locals felt they were losing part of their history. So now, its reopening is being celebrated as if it were returning a heritage of the city, and as the French chain knows this, the new Fnac has organized a special day of celebration for October 23 at its newly opened store (La, Rambla de Canaletes, 131, Ciutat Vella, 08002 Barcelona).
The chain will offer a full day of free cultural activities, including live music, a radio program and book signings, culminating in a festival in Plaza de Cataluña.
Book signings and a free music festival in Plaça Catalunya
The schedule of events will kick off at 12:00 noon at the store’s Forum. The morning will start with the live broadcast of the program “Els teloners”, from ‘Versió RAC1’. This will be followed by a talk with the band Love of Lesbian, which acts as “godfather” of this new stage of Fnac in the heart of Barcelona.
In the afternoon, the program will focus on literature. From 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., a book signing session will be held with the presence of several authors, including Natalia Martín (Greenwood Sisters), Myriam M. Lejardi, Konata, Carla Gracia, Josep Homs, Oriol Canals and Ester Invernon.
As the central event of the celebration, the music will move outdoors with the FNAC LIVE BARCELONA. This music festival will take place in Plaza de Cataluña and will have free access for all attendees.
According to the organization, the day will be complemented by DJ sessions and other surprises to officially welcome the new store.
