The Verde area is growing in Barcelona and it will be increasingly difficult to find unregulated parking zones in the city. In a growing Barcelona, space is limited, so the City Council tends to charge for the use of public space as a way, not only to regulate that use, but also to discourage it in order to seek a future with fewer cars.
Thus, a new decree has now announced the extension of the Verde area to four new zones in the city where, until now, parking was free on weekends.
These are the zones 17, 23, 25 and VH of the Verde area of Barcelona, where, from now on, parking will be paid and regulated 365 days a year, being possible to park from 8 am to 8 pm.
All these areas are located in the upper part of the city, in the Guinardó area and up to the Montbau area. Zone 17 groups streets in the Baix Guinardó and Guinardó areas; Zone 23 groups streets in Can Baró and Guinardó; Zone 25 groups streets and squares in the neighborhoods of Can Baró, El Carmel and Horta Guinardó and, finally, Zone VH groups streets in Sant Genís dels Agudells and Montbau.
All the information about the new areas can be found at the decree published by the City Council and in the verde web site.
