We now know the new Repsol Suns for 2026 in Barcelona. The highest recognition for restaurants across the country held its awards ceremony on Monday in Tarragona, with the Dos Palillos restaurant in Barcelona being the only one in the city to add to its list of achievements in 2026 with a second Sun.
The Asian-Spanish cuisine of Albert Raurich, who was head chef at elBulli from 1997 to 2007, together with Tamae Imachi, adds this recognition to its Michelin star with cuisine inspired by Japan, China, and Southeast Asia.
What are the new Repsol Suns in Barcelona?

But he is not the only one to have his name on this list. In this 2026 edition, the Repsol Guide Suns add 83 new establishments, four of which are located in the province of Barcelona: Amar, Besta, Eldelmar, and Prodigi.
The four establishments join the list with a variety of cuisines. For example, Amar Barcelona specializes in seafood and fish and is run by Rafa Zafra, former chef at El Bulli and former head of the Adrià brothers’ restaurant Heart Ibiza.

Besta offers Galician cuisine in Barcelona, a concept by chef Ramón Aguilar with a menu priced at around €75. Eldelmar, also specializing in seafood and rice dishes, is a concept by the Torres brothers located next to the city’s Port Olímpic.

Prodigi, by Jordi Tarré, offers contemporary Catalan cuisine with international influences. The name comes from the intersection of three streets: Provença, Diagonal, and Girona. It is also the cheapest Michelin-starred restaurant in the city in 2026.
Catalunya, queen of the Repsol Suns

“Catalonia is now the region with the most Repsol Guide Suns in the whole of Spain, and this is not just a numerical lead. It is the result of an approach to gastronomy based on respect for tradition, product excellence, and a constant ability to reinvent itself,” said the Minister for Business and Labor, Miquel Sàmper, in an official statement released by the organization.
The region stands out as the big winner in the 2026 awards, with distinctions in all four provinces of Catalonia.
