They said goodbye last year with a farewell tour, but it seems that NOFX still had ammunition in store. The legendary Californian punk band has just announced NOFX A-Z, a triple album that will bring together demos, unreleased versions and rarities from their entire career, with a special feature: 26 songs, one for each letter of the alphabet.
And among them there is a song with a very surprising lyric: “Barcelona”.
The song, which can already be heard on all platforms, is the first preview of the NOFX A-H volume, the first of the three that will make up this album-puzzle. For now, there is no video clip or official statement about the story behind the song, but the title has aroused the curiosity (and, above all, nostalgia) of local and global fans.
About the song, although it is called Barcelona, the references to the city are minor: it is a song about a love encounter and misunderstanding that wonders if it started in Barcelona, but also in other cities like Berlin or San Francisco, with no more specific references to Barcelona. The name Barcelona is, once again, little more than a claim.
