Free quick stop to pick up or drop off passengers
In addition to the parking lots, in both T1 and T2 there is a free 15-minute quick stop option designed for those who are only picking up or dropping off passengers. Access is via a signposted lane next to the terminal and allows you to stop just long enough to drop off or pick up luggage free of charge.
However, the limit is strict: if it is exceeded, the corresponding fee is charged as in a conventional parking lot, so it is advisable to take this into account and coordinate the pick-up well.
Is it possible to park for free at Barcelona Airport?
At Barcelona-El Prat Airport there are no official free parking facilities for long stays. The only free options are on the streets or nearby areas outside the airport grounds, around the airport, especially in El Prat de Llobregat or Viladecans, there are residential or industrial areas where people sometimes leave their cars for free, but they are not monitored and it can be risky (fines, theft, vandalism, or not finding a parking space).
The other option is external parking lots with promotions, which sometimes offer “first hours free” or very reduced prices with previous reservation, but they are not really free.
Is there free parking for motorcycles?
If you travel by motorcycle, Barcelona-El Prat airport also has adapted solutions. In both T1 and T2 there are specific areas for motorcycles, which are cheaper than car parking and, in some cases, such as T2, free for short stays. In addition, motorcycles can use the 15-minute quick stop to pick up or drop off passengers.
In external parking lots, motorcycles are often accepted at reduced rates, but it is advisable to check when booking. Parking in the car zones is not recommended: it is more expensive and the spaces are further away from the terminals.
