Barcelona is a city that has almost everything: culture, modernity, leisure, beaches, mountains, and fascinating architecture. But, as in any big city, living right in the center or in the busiest neighborhoods comes with the downside of the constant hustle and bustle and the breakneck pace that characterize the streets of the Catalan capital.
A setting that’s not very welcoming for celebrities and stars—especially for FC Barcelona soccer players—and many seek to move to exclusive resorts or large mansions in outlying towns such as Esplugues de Llobregat, home to Lamine Yamal and Shakira, among others.
Another of the most popular destinations for the sport’s wealthiest figures is Castelldefels, a town where Messi lived for more than 12 years and where Pedri is now building one of the most impressive mansions on the Catalan coast.
A mansion worth over 5 million euros

The soccer player purchased two plots totaling about 3,700 square meters in the exclusive Bellamar development—the most sought-after in Castelldefels—for 1.5 million euros in 2024. Unlike other soccer players, the Canary Islander decided to make a long-term investment and build his own home, designed by the Fran Silvestre architecture firm, a leader in minimalism and modern architecture.
Construction began in May 2025, and the estimated completion date will be pushed back by three years: the soccer player’s mansion won’t be ready until May 2028. This is a somewhat longer timeframe than usual due to the need to demolish the previous structure and level a plot of land with a steep slope.
For now, and until construction is complete, Pedri lives in a family home with his brother, also located in the Bellamar neighborhood and a short distance from his future home. And although the Canary Islander doesn’t usually share many details about his private life, we’ve seen him post some photos on social media of himself by the pool, playing basketball, or in his “gaming area.”
In 2024, the soccer player also purchased a former convent in his hometown, Tegueste, on a plot of nearly 9,500 square meters for 2.5 million euros to convert it into a rural hotel. The land and the estate had been owned by the religious order of the Assumptionists for more than seven decades. In February 2026, he also acquired the Hotel Villa de Barajas in Madrid, located next to the airport, for 4.2 million euros.
Messi’s neighbor in 2028?
Pedri’s future home is located a short distance from that of FC Barcelona legend Leo Messi, whose contract with Inter Miami expires in 2028 and who is expected to return to Catalonia to manage the two teams he has acquired: UE Cornellà and CD Eldense.
The Bellamar residential complex is a common place of residence for FC Barcelona soccer players; other stars such as Robert Lewandowski, Sergio Busquets, Cesc Fàbregas, Neymar, Luis Suárez, and Philippe Coutinho have lived or own a home in this exclusive neighborhood on the Catalan coast.
