There are many nativity scenes in Barcelona and Catalonia, few as controversial as the one in Plaça Sant Jaume. But before the traditional and the controversial, few cribs as adorable as the traditional Palymobil crib of Castelldefels, which this year has been inaugurated again just half an hour from Barcelona.
This diorama of toys, which occupies 8m² and consists of about a thousand pieces and is free access is the work of @carvuplay, a local resident. His work recreates the classic scenes of a nativity scene through the iconic Playmobil dolls in a scenario full of very successful details.
In addition, the nativity scene includes a search game with which to look for three intruders hidden among the figures: the classic Caganer, Santa Claus, Wally and even “a local policeman who puts order to the camel traffic”.
When can you visit the Playmobil nativity scene in Castelldefels and where is it?
The Nativity Scene will be available until January 4, with free admission. The opening hours are Monday to Friday from 16:00 to 20:00 h, Saturdays from 11:00 to 14:00 h and from 16:00 to 20:00 h, and Sundays from 11:00 to 14:00 h. In addition, during the Festa Major d’Hivern (from December 5 to 8), it will also be open extended hours.
The nativity scene is located inside the town hall building (Plaça de l’Església, 1, 08860 Castelldefels) and the visit is free of charge.
