The Montjuïc Municipal Tennis Courts, located at 2-4 Foixarda Street, are adding their newly remodeled outdoor pool to Barcelona’s network of 15 municipal outdoor pools this season.
The pool is part of a private club that combines tennis, padel, and swimming in the heart of Montjuïc’s green belt, but this year it will open its pool to the general public.
Managed by the Reial Societat de Tennis Pompeia, the facility features six tennis courts and three padel courts, as well as the outdoor pool, which is opening for the season following the completion of renovation work, according to the Barcelona City Council.
Just five minutes from Plaza de España, it’s a quiet alternative to the city’s more crowded pools for those looking to take a dip this summer
The 15 municipal pools in Barcelona opening in 2026, by district
Five are already open, but the number will rise to 15. We’re talking about Barcelona’s municipal pools, which will gradually kick off the summer season starting in late May 2026.
Five pools have already opened their doors in recent days: those at the municipal sports centers Parc de la Ciutadella, Sant Sebastià, Piscines Bernat Picornell, Can Toda, and Bac de Roda.
The rest will open throughout June, including facilities such as the Montjuïc Municipal Pools, Can Caralleu, and the Llac de la Creueta del Coll. All will close for the season in September.
All facilities will be open seven days a week and are accessible to people with reduced mobility. The season will run through September.
