If you are foresighted and are already planning your getaways for next year you are in luck, because the Departament d’Empresa i Treball de la Generalitat de Catalunya has already approved the calendar of holidays for 2026, allowing us to go preparing the bridges that we will arm ourselves next year.
There are 12 holidays (plus 2 of each municipality) that will allow us, as they fall in 2026, celebrate a good number of bridges to relieve the routine.

All the long weekends you can have in 2026
If you want to organize your holidays in 2026, we will give you a preview of all the long weekends you can ask for, and we will organize them according to the ones you can take without asking for holidays and the ones that need some vacation days to organize a macro-holiday.
Long weekends without asking for days off
These are the holidays that fall on Friday or Monday and allow you to take a long weekend without asking for vacation days.
- Friday, April 3 (Good Friday) + Monday, April 6 (Easter Monday): Extra long four-day weekend.
- Friday, May 1 (Labor Day): Three guaranteed days off.
- Friday, September 11 (National Day of Catalonia): Another perfect long weekend to bid farewell to the summer.
- Monday, October 12 (Columbus Day): Three-day weekend in the middle of autumn.
- Friday, December 25 (Christmas): One last festive respite before closing the year.
Bridges if you ask for a single day off
If you have leeway to ask for a day off, you can turn these holidays into a four-day long weekend:
- Tuesday, January 6 (Epiphany): Take Monday the 5th off and start the year with a luxury long weekend.
- Tuesday, December 8 (Immaculate Conception): By requesting Monday, December 7, you link with the weekend and get four days of pre-Christmas rest.
- Wednesday, June 24 (Sant Joan): Here there are two strategies: ask for Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd or Thursday 25th and Friday 26th. Either of these options leaves you with a five-day long weekend to enjoy the festival as it deserves.
