Yesterday morning Civil Protection activated the red alert in the city of Barcelona by the “continuous and torrential rains” asking to take extreme precautions. As a consequence, some roads as well as public transport and the Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport were affected suffering cuts and cancellations. In the last hours, the situation has stabilized and circulation is back to normal in almost all cases.
Circulation of the Rodalíes trains
Renfe confirms that all Rodalies lines, after going through the necessary inspection of infrastructure and machinery, returns to normal throughout the Catalan territory. The last line to return to normal circulation has been the R17 (linking Estació de França to Port Aventura).

State of the roads
The latest information provided by the Servei Català de Trànsit, dependent on the Generalitat de Catalunya, reports that only a section of the A-27 highway at the height of Valls remains affected. In any case, it is not cut off, but slow traffic and delays are expected as there is only one lane open in each direction while the road cleaning work continues.
In the case of the province of Barcelona, traffic has resumed normally on all roads affected by the torrential rains.

Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport.
The force of yesterday’s rains left a balance of 153 cancelled flights at El Prat (confirmed by the Ministry of Transport). The water flooded not only the parking lot but also affected the interior of Terminal 1 as well as the runways themselves. Rainfall data from the airport calculated that, in a range of four hours, approximately 150 liters per square meter fell (this being the highest figure recorded during the day on Monday here).
AENA, manager of the Spanish airports, confirms the total normality of the flights at El Prat airport. Both the airfield and the water accumulations in Terminal 1 have been cleaned and solved. They also indicate that the public transport routes to access the aerodrome are available (Rodalies, Metro and Buses).
