On May 15, Barcelona City Council carried out the draw for 238 subsidized housing units in Illa Glòries, the largest public housing development in the history of the city.
The draw has become a sign of the city’s housing crisis: more than 11,000 people signed up to opt for the 238 apartments that were raffled.
The lottery process was broadcast live on the Internet, with hundreds of people following online and commenting on each other’s access to a basic right such as housing.
If you have not yet consulted how the draw went and if you have won, we leave here the details for you to find out.
Details of the promotion: which houses were raffled?
The homes are distributed in three types
-
Right of superficies: 113 apartments that allow residency for 75 years without acquiring ownership of the land, with prices around 200,000 euros.
-
Affordable rental: 72 apartments with monthly rents between 418 and 753 euros.
-
Social renting: 15 apartments for vulnerable groups, with rents adjusted according to income.
The apartments, between 45 and 80 square meters, are designed with sustainable criteria, including solar panels and water reuse systems.
How to consult the results
Participants can check if they have been selected by consulting the definitive list of those admitted, where their participation number is indicated. This information is available on the website of the Registry of Applicants for Subsidized Housing in Barcelona (RSHPOB).
The successful bidders have two weeks to submit the required documentation. It is expected that the first tenants will be able to move into their new homes during the summer.
We tell you the step by step for you to watch.
Step 1: Access the official portal
You must enter the website of the Registre de Sol-licitants d’Habitatge amb Protecció Oficial de Barcelona (RSHPOB). From there you will be able to:
-
See the definitive list of admitted and excluded applicants.
-
Consult the document with the results of the draw for your specific call (social rent, affordable rent or surface right).
Step 2: Find your participation number
At the bottom of the page you can click on a link called: Consult your participation.
- Enter your Application number (this is the number assigned to you when you registered for the promotion draw, you can check it on your registration receipt or in the previous lists of those admitted, where it appears next to your name) and your password (which you should know, if not, you can call 010 to change it).
- Once inside, it is clear whether you are a successful bidder of the apartment or not.
Step 3: Check what position you have been placed in.
- To check it in the lists, you have to click on the yellow folders, in the definitive lists where you participate. Once there, you will also see, first of all, the lists of successful bidders and then the participants ordered by their place in the reserve.
-
If you are among the positions that correspond to the number of homes in your category, congratulations! You are a provisional allottee.
-
If you are below, you are part of the waiting list, and you could enter if someone resigns or does not meet the requirements in the documentation phase.
Important: The successful bidders have two weeks to submit the necessary documentation. If they fail to do so, the apartment goes to the next person on the list.
