If you’re one of those who are still freaking out about Rosalía’ s latest album, this will blow your mind. Because one thing is to listen to them on Spotify and another, very different, is to see them live. And not just anywhere, but under the vaults of Gaudí.
The Escolania de Montserrat, the children’s choir that has lent its heavenly voices to the new work of the Catalan artist, changes the recording studio for the main altar of the Sagrada Familia. And the best part: you can go and see them totally free.
The Basilica has just announced that it is raffling 400 double tickets (800 invitations in total) for a unique concert this coming Friday, November 21.
From collaborating with Rosalía to the Sagrada Familia
Let’s be fair, the Escolania de Montserrat was already an institution before Rosalía called them (they have been singing for literally centuries). But let’s not kid ourselves: their stellar collaboration has put them on the radar of a whole new audience.
Now, in order to prove that their register goes from the urban to the sacred without a fuss, they are performing this concert at the Sagrada Familia. The event, called “International Concert with European Escolanías”, is held on the occasion of the Millennium of Montserrat and the Centenary of the death of Gaudí.
And they will not be alone. For the occasion, two other world-renowned children’s choirs are being brought along: the Tölzer Knabenchor (from Bavaria, Germany) and the Copenhagen Boys Choir (from Denmark). A luxury line-up that promises to give goose bumps to the 800 lucky ones who get a ticket.
The concert will be on Friday, November 21 at 6:30 pm.
How do I get free tickets?
Here comes the important part. As we have told you, Sagrada Familia does not sell tickets, it gives them away for free. But, like everything that is free and cool in Barcelona, you have to be quick and lucky.
The system is an online raffle. To participate, you just have to fill out a form on the official website of the Sagrada Familia. But BE CAREFUL! The deadline is very short. You have time until this Sunday, November 16, at 21:00 pm.
Not a minute more. At that time the registrations close and you just have to cross your fingers.
Plan B: If you don’t win, you’ll always have the streaming option.
We know that 400 double tickets for all of Barcelona (and half the world’s Rosalía fans) are not enough. If you are not lucky in the draw, don’t panic.
The Basilica has confirmed that, so that no one misses this historic meeting, the concert will be broadcast live via streaming. So, even if you are not physically there, you will be able to enjoy it from the comfort of your couch (and yes, you can set the volume as loud as you want).
