Paying 2,000 euros to see the Three Kings Parade of a lifetime in Barcelona. In a city where everything is for sale, it was only a matter of time before something as normal as a balcony and an event as popular as the Epiphany parade was commercialized so that the inevitable would happen: charging to see the parade.
This is what reveals a study by Spotahome, a seasonal apartment rental platform that points out that the apartments located in the route of the Three Kings Parade exceed 1,800 € per month in January. Or what is the same: the houses that should serve to accommodate residents of the city reduced to a balcony for privileged people who want to pay 2,000 euros to see the 20 minutes it takes for the parade to pass in front.
2,000 euros to see the cavalcade
The Spotahome study points out how prices soar in areas such as Paseo de Colón or Avenida del Marqués de la Argentera, where an apartment can be between 1,010 and 1,080 euros during the month of January, making Barcelona the most expensive city in the country along with Madrid.
Prices remain high all along the route. For example, in areas such as Paral-lel or the Sant Pau ring road, rents range between 1,030 and 1,560 euros per month.
The trend, sadly, is repeated in all the cities of the country, in a generalized increase of prices in other cities during these dates. In Vigo, for example, prices range from 720 to 1,220 euros, while in Malaga they are between 1,160 and 1,230 euros.
All the novelties of the 2025 Three Wise Men’s Parade in Barcelona
As every year, the Three Kings Cavalcade will go through the center of Barcelona on January 5 to bring the illusion of the kings of the east to the city. The works of Via Laietana have again altered the route, so the parade will pass through the Avenida del Marqués de la Argentera and will end at 21:00 at the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc.
