Barcelona-Lisbon. One hour by plane. 60 minutes that separate the Mediterranean city from the Atlantic capital and take us to a four-day festival that has just announced a trio of great queens: Cyndi Lauper, 4 Non Blondes and Joss Stone. Also, a series of bands that will drive metalheads crazy, such as Sepultura or P.O.D. There are only a few months left (June 20, 21, 27 and 28) and Rock in Rio Lisbon is getting ready to welcome the greats of music. Tickets per day and season tickets are already on sale at this link.

The Tejo Park will once again be the main stage of this festival. For this edition, the structures will be improved (with larger rest areas) and the venue itself will be enlarged. What does this mean? A more extensive program. The last edition of Rock in Rio was held in 106 countries and attracted more than 300,000 visitors. Let’s see what Lisbon has in store for us:

We have seen her spinning in the sky non-stop, we have sung with her that I kissed a girl and I liked it, we have been able to hear her speak Catalan… and now, we land back in Katy Perry’s spontaneous world at Rock in Rio Lisbon.
On the same day, international talents such as Brazilian Pedro Sampaio, the Calema brothers from Sao Tome and Principe or Napa, the pop rock band from Madeira, are also playing.

This day is undoubtedly about guitars, heavy sounds, metal, hardcore. Rock in Rio Lisbon confirms the presence of the Brazilians Sepultura: how can it be that Roots, bloody roots is from 1996? They will celebrate 30 years at the festival, incredible. And when Sepultura were rising, P.O.D. were born in those nineties when Nu metal (popularly known as tracksuit metal) became a religion. In addition to these two bands, there is a third one that summarizes the legacy of these sounds in the hard rock of The Pretty Reckless (the band of the actress and grunge mezzo-soprano, Taylor Momsen).
Among the new confirmations of this day, a nostalgic look at those two thousand years full of power pop and alternative rock: Hoobastank, authors of The Reason, perhaps one of the most representative songs of what was happening on MTV in those years. The Portuguese Blasted Mechanism and Tara Perdida also join the band.
All of them add to an epic day for which more bands had already been confirmed, such as Linkin Park Chester is not here, but he resists with the voice of Emily Armstrong, who has been able to take the band on a new path without forgetting the essence and the very meaning of the Californians; Cypress Hill will bring to Lisbon the taste of classic hip-hop from Los Angeles; Grandson or Kaiser Chiefs will come to revolutionize the stage with alternative rock.
June 27: rock legends, a tribute to the decade of the 80s, 90s and 00s
Incredible but true, guitars are still heard and, perhaps, are more alive than ever knocking on the doors of the new generations. June 27th is the day of the great rock legends, that is to say, a day dedicated entirely to emblematic artists spanning several generations.
And here are the new confirmations, absolute icons of music, queens of the stage and the great anthems: Cyndi Lauper, 4 Non Blondes (who, after years of absence, return to the most current stages after their hit song What’s Up went viral on TikTok) and Joss Stone, the voice of soul.
All of them join Rod Stewart with a concert designed ad hoc for Rock in Rio Lisbon. He will be joined by Xutos & Pontapés, GNR, UHG, Táxi and Syro, Portuguese bands that shaped Portuguese rockers from the 80s to the present day.
