From this Tuesday, July 1, the Rodalies rail system in Catalonia starts a new stage with the implementation of a completely renewed fare structure. In addition to the 20-euro flat fare, which allows unlimited travel for 20 euros per month, another change is specially designed for certain user groups.
With the entry into force of these new fares, the previous recurring free passes disappear and a monthly pass with a reduced fare for young people is introduced, available for 10 euros.
This pass is intended for those born between January 1, 1999 and December 31, 2010, under 26 years of age. All other passengers will be able to access the same type of pass for 20 euros.
Both passes allow travel on the entire Rodalies Catalunya network at a fixed price.
Free Rodalies for children under 14 years old
A free pass for minors is also now enabled, aimed at children born between 2011 and 2025, that is, under 14 years old. This ticket can be used unlimitedly throughout the network at no cost.
In addition, the classic 10-trip voucher is maintained, whose price will depend on the zone and which can be used by different people, with a validity of one year.
The new tickets will be available until December 31, 2026 and can be used until the end of January 2027, always within the period of validity of each one.
