Rosalía’s latest, Omega, will have its world premiere during the Piromusical de la Mercè, which will close Barcelona’s Festa Major this year.
The announcement comes as a surprise to fans of the singer, whose unreleased song performed with Ralphie Choo will sound for the first time in front of all Barcelona tonight at the foot of the Magic Fountain of Montjuic at 10:00 pm.
This has been confirmed by the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona (ICUB) just hours before the celebration of the Piromusical. The show, which will last 30 minutes, will also include a musical selection designed by Rosalía herself, who was chosen to provide the soundtrack for the closing of the festivities. The playlist is still a mystery, except for the unexpected premiere of her latest song.
The local company Pirotécnica Igual, with 120 years of experience, will put light, fire and color to the global launch of Omega, a title of which only the a capella preview that the singer shared on her broadcast channel yesterday is known. The people of Barcelona who come tonight to say goodbye to the Mercè will be the first to hear the rest thanks to the gift of Rosalía (who, by the way, turns 31 tomorrow) to the city.
