Seven planets in a single glance at the sky. Astronomy lovers are happy because tomorrow will be an event that will not be repeated until the year 2492: the alignment of the seven planets of the Solar System visible from Earth.
We explain all the details so you don’t miss the phenomenon.
Which planets will we be able to see aligned tomorrow?
They will be Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Mercury, that is, all the planets visible from Earth.
Although these planets are always visible from Earth, the exceptional thing about tomorrow will be that they will all be visible at the same time.
When will all seven planets be visible in alignment?
The best day to enjoy the phenomenon will be February 28 around 19:00. For an optimal observation, it is recommended to move away from the light pollution of the city and look for a place with a clear horizon.
Venus, Jupiter and Mars will be the easiest to see with the naked eye. For Uranus and Neptune, a telescope will be necessary. Mercury and Saturn will be the most elusive, as they will quickly hide behind the horizon shortly after sunset.
The key is to look for the ecliptic line, where the planets will be located. A good trick is to locate the Moon, as it will serve as a reference to find Mercury and Saturn, the most difficult to detect.
