From the outside, the appearance is reminiscent of any specialty coffee shop. Beyond the name (wonderful Horoscoffee), a minimalist decoration, La Marzocco coffee machine and those cardboard cups ubiquitous in Barcelona typical of places that are only licensed to give food and drink to go.
But when you enter, you notice details. A sign asks you what your horoscope sign is. Dreamlike drawings decorate the walls. When you order your coffee, Leo, the owner, asks you what your horoscope sign is and hands you with your drink a card with the prediction his trusted astrologers have made for each sign for that month.
The idea was born that way, in fact. He says that every morning, when he went out to have his coffee in the neighborhood, he would read his horoscope on his cell phone. The connection was quick, and from the morning coffee to the creation of Horoscoffee in his neighborhood was just a couple of steps.
If you are lucky (or follow Horoscoffe’s social networks), you will arrive on a day with a queue to participate in events such as astrological chart reading or Turkish coffee grounds reading, which they also serve in this coffee shop as a differential fact (and probably, heritage of the owner’s Georgian origin), in a menu where all the rest of the offer is the same as in a specialty coffee shop (and somewhat cheaper than the average, by the way)-.
The coffee, by the way, is Atmans brand, and Leo’s intention is, in the near future, to sell it customized by horoscopic sign, that is, linked to a sign depending on the month in which it was grown. Yes, in case you didn’t know, it seems that a cucumber grown in July can be Cancer like me.
