Forget about that ashtray-flavored coffee, in a cane glass, from the bar of a lifetime. Because we profess eternal love to our lifetime bars, but if you haven’t had specialty coffee at any of these specialty coffee shops, you may not yet know what good coffee tastes like.
Here coffee is a new cult, a religion yet to be explored and in expansion where every aspect is cared for in detail with the care of the artisan. Welcome to our route through some of the best specialty coffee shops in Barcelona.
Satan’s Coffee
No decaf, no wi-fi, no nens. In the open concept of Satan’s Coffe in the Gothic Quarter there is no room for anything but caffeine, otherwise it wouldn’t be a true specialty coffee shop. Yes, they also serve food, but that is taken care of by a Japanese chef who prepares each dish on-site.
Its founder, Marcos Bartolomé, comes from a family that has been dedicated to coffee roasting for generations, and wanted to honor that tradition by taking it a step further. It opened a few years ago the first Satan’s corner (literally a corner in the Raval) and now has plenty of space in C/ de l’Arc de Sant Ramon del Call, 11.

Ruma’s Coffee
The Specialty Coffee Association scores some of Ruma’s coffees with 96 points, with 100 being the maximum rating. So Ruma, its owner, can be proud to have brought her coffee shop from Moscow to Barcelona.
Carrer dels Escudellers, 11 and Carrer de Moià, 13.

Three Marks Coffee
Three namesakes, the three Marcs, obviously, set up this coffee shop that is also a roaster and already has three locations in the city, becoming one of the references of specialty coffee in the city.
Its first and main location is at the intersection of Carrer d’Ausiàs Marc and Marina. Their roastery is in the Fòrum (Moll de la Rda., 10), where you can also taste their coffee, and they have just opened a third location in Poblenou, in the studio Six N. Five. Three Marks Coffee is coffee elevated to its maximum expression.

Nomad Coffee
Undoubtedly the most powerful toaster in the city and with more presence outside of it. Nomad already has three locations in Barcelona and its coffee can be tasted in countless coffee shops.
Passatge Sert, 12; Carrer de Pujades, 95; Carrer del Marroc, 160.
☕ 3 euros per cortado.
Slowmov
Also roasters of the coffee that they prepare in their premises in the Gràcia district, Slowmov is another of the city’s great guarantees of quality.
Here, in addition to concern and care for the product, there is an ecological will. Hence, the bags in which they package and sell their coffee beans are 100 percent compostable (even the ink that prints their packages is made from coffee!).
