Enjoying Barcelona, the best restaurant in the world in 2024 shares founders with another city restaurant of the same gastronomic group, but at a more affordable price. Eduard Xatruch, Oriol Castro and Mateu Casañas, creators of Disfrutar, are also behind the menu of Compartir, a restaurant that imported Mediterranean cuisine from Cadaqués to the capital in 2022.
Located at carrer València 225, in the Eixample, this restaurant offers an a la carte dining experience, more flexible than a tasting menu, and in which innovative cooking techniques are not left out, which are also applied to the Disfrutar menu.
This is the first difference between the two restaurants. The second, its price, with an average ticket of about 50-60 euros per person. 230 euros less than the average ticket at Disfrutar, a restaurant with 3 Michelin stars which focuses its menu on a tasting menu of haute cuisine for 290 euros.
The third difference is that that’s what we come to Compartir for: to try various dishes as tapas with our companions. The menu is not designed for the binomial “one dish, one person”, but rather to be an expression of the Mediterranean soul.
Eduard Xatruch, Oriol Castro and Mateu Casañas met at Ferran Adrià’s elBulli and together they created their first restaurant in 2011: Share Cadaqués. This is the concept that a decade later they imported to Barcelona, in 2022, with the Disfrutar proposal already consolidated among the best in the world.
