“If we talk about a restaurant with an excellent quality/price ratio, we must mention Somiatruites, run by David (chef also at Via Veneto, with a Star) and his brother Xavier Andrés”. This is how the Michelin Guide begins its recognition of the restaurant in Igualada, which has slipped among the most affordable for its quality for this 2025.
An article in the French guide recognizes the potential of this restaurant, which is located in a gastronomic space of reference in the region of Anoia, in a former tannery next to the Museu de la Pell d’Igualada.
This restaurant, and at the same time hotel, has captured the best of its cuisine in a daily menu that in May 2025 has a cost of 19 euros. The proposal includes starter, main course, dessert, bread and drink.
Somiatruites: Bib Gourmand and Green Star restaurant.
The presentation and quality of the dishes is what has made the proposal of Somiatruites to be included in the list of Bib Gourmand restaurants in Catalonia, which is the distinction that the French apply to restaurants that, without having a Michelin star, provide a great quality/price ratio for their product.
In addition to the menu, Somiatruites can also be enjoyed, through its menu, with reasonable prices (between 10 and 15 euros per dish and desserts around 7 euros). In it we find flagship dishes such as the Somiatruites donut with honeyed meat and Hoisin sauce, a section dedicated to almost a dozen varieties of croquettes, or dishes like cod with pumpkin cream or tuna tataki with pickled tuna.
In addition, the space has been awarded the Green Star for its commitment to the environment. On its rooftop there is a 400 m² vegetable garden.
Somiatruites is located at Carrer del Sol, 19, Igualada, in the province of Barcelona.
